16 CFR 1615 is a standard formulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The standard was issued on December 30, 1975, aiming at ensuring the fire resistance of children's pajamas and reducing the fire risk related to pajamas.
Norm refer involves standards:
16 CFR 1615 (Size 0-6)
16 CFR 1616 (Size 7-14)
This standard is applicable to children's pajamas, ranging in size from newborn to 6X for children. It stipulates that children's pajamas must undergo special flame retardant treatment or be made of flame retardant materials to prevent them from burning or delay the burning speed when they are in contact with fire sources. Such measures help to increase the safety of children wearing pajamas.
Test content
In order to ensure that the products meet the requirements of standards, children's pajamas must undergo a series of laboratory tests, including vertical burning test, washing test and chemical analysis test. The vertical combustion test is used to evaluate the combustion characteristics of pajamas materials, the washing test is used to check whether the flame retardant performance continues to be effective after repeated cleaning, and the chemical analysis test is used to ensure that the materials used meet the standards.
